Brenda Rose Fernandez, DAOM, L.Ac., is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and Nationally Certified by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She graduated from Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCTCM), now known as Texas Health and Science University, (THSU) in the year 2000 with a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. In 2019 she obtained her Doctorate from THSU with a Doctoral Thesis and Doctoral research in DPN (Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy). The uniqueness of the DAOM degree is that it is an integrated program with training in both Western medicine and Oriental medicine and additional training in research in the field of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Brenda is also a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts.
In addition to treating DPN (diabetic peripheral neuropathy) in its various stages, Brenda has spent many hours treating veterans and their spouses with chronic pain, PTSD, anxiety and stress and understands the importance of treating the emotions along with the physical body and that both are important in achieving a healthier state of wellbeing. With acupuncture and Chinese medicinals, Brenda can treat other medical conditions. When Brenda treats patients she works on moving a patient towards better mental, emotional, and physical health.
